Northampton Primary Academy Trust welcomes children to join schools in our Trust both at the start of their school life (the academic year during which they turn five years old) and as a transfer from another school either at the beginning of an academic year or at any point during an academic year.

Pupils with an EHC Plan will be allocated a place where the school is named as being the appropriate provision.

Applications open on 8th September 2023 and close at midnight on 15th January 2024 for children who will turn five from 1st September 2024 – 31st August 2025.

National offer day for these children will be 16th April 2024.

What happens when the number of applications exceed the number of places available?

  • NPAT schools except Park Junior School and Weston Favell Primary School.

Where applications for admission exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied, in the order set out below, to decide which children to admit:

After the admission of pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan that names the school, priority for admission will be given to children in the order shown below:

  1. Looked After Children and Previously Looked After Children
  1. Siblings
  1. School Staff
  1. Children who live nearer to the school than any other school
  1. Other children
  • For Park Junior School

When there are more applications for places than there are places available, priority will be given in the following order:

  1. Looked after children and all previously looked after children
  2. Children with a sibling continuing at the school or The Avenue Infant School at the time of admission of the child
  3. Children who attend the linked infant school
  4. Children who live closer to the preferred school than any other school
  5. Other children
  • For Weston Favell Primary School

Please see the school’s Admission Policy 2024 which is available on the school website: https://www.wfps.org.uk/statutory-information/admissions
