What a fantastic opportunity we have had this term during our music sessions. It is not every day you get to play on the drums but sometimes I wish we could. The best part was trying to keep the rhythm and the beat. At first it was tricky but before long we were keeping up and doing really well. Drumming is extremely fun. We learnt about percussion instruments, playing the gong from Indonesia and Djembe drum from Africa.

Year 6 started the Year being able to select the class reads they wanted for each term. This will form part of the teaching for the year. The children had to research the book, read the blog and use the front cover to support their choice.

It was a tough competition with 32 books to start and after a rigorous and thorough selection came up with: Pax, Holes, Who Let the Gods Out, Cosmic, Northern lights and Skellig.

Great choices Year 6 and I am looking forward to using them in my planning.

Our new blog posts will be coming soon for this year!
